Welcome to the Town of Index.
Since our small town has no official website, we decided to
create The Town of Index Website. It's a labor of love
and a way to get information out to people and give them a
portal into the life of a small town. Our site stays
online via donations from supporters, like you.
David A. Cameron,
Ph.D. and President of the Index Historical Society as well
as an accomplished author, volunteered his services and we went
along for the ride! He was kind enough to write up our
history section and he did a fine job,
getting the information into a cramped space.

Mount Index
.JPG)
The Town of Index in the beautiful
Cascade Mountains, with a population of 135-150 people is
located one mile off of Highway 2 in Washington State. We
are 21 miles east of Monroe and about 25 miles west of Steven's
Pass.
The Town of Index is one of the best
kept secrets in the United States...well, it was
until today. Here you can rock climb, hike, swim,
whitewater raft or just hang around and enjoy the picturesque
and serene views.
