Ahhhh, spring has sprung but who really cares?  Winter was pretty much spring as far as we can tell, so spring is not a big surprise like it normally is. Wait, we take that back.
Saturday the 20th was 76.4 degrees on our front porch under the roof. That IS a great start for spring with one exception. It’s pouring down rain on the 21st as we write.

This webmaster thinks Index gets more rain than other areas in the N.W. I know there is another city in Washington that gets the most rain of all of us but memory does not serve me right this moment.

HAPPY SPRING.

UPDATE 8:00 am 03.22.10

CRAZY WEATHER.  When we got up this morning, it was 45 degrees outside.  The news stated the snow level is 2500'.  It is now 39 degrees outside and the wall has snow on it.  Normally the wall gets snow when the snow level is 1500' or so.  That's some crazy stuff.  Do you want to know what the weather is at this very moment?  LOOK OUT YOUR WINDOW and don't pay attention to the news.

Community Garden Project

The Community Garden Project is well underway. The cleanup and tilling began a short while back.

Thanks to Dana Starfire for sending us the photos of the tired people!

Broken Links

We have taken the time to attempt to repair or delete the broken links on the blog. A lot of the links targeted for news tend to go stale over a period of time and some news links want you to pay to view the old news after a week or so.

We installed a program that monitors the links for us and lets us know when a link is no longer valid. We will keep the story intact but the link will no longer be HOT.

Odd Photo Posted

Have you seen the odd photo of the Climbing Wall? One person commented it looks like Alfred E. Newman (that gave away the comment posters age)……Maybe it looks like Mr. Feinbein! Oooops, same magazine, different category. That gives away MY age.

Earthquake Information

Thanks again to Bob Foster, our animal control officer, for sending us important information about earthquakes and earthquake preparedness.

Earthquakes have been in the spotlight quite a bit in the very recent past and Foster has first hand experience in this matter. See his latest article at

We can walk you through the process quite easily. Your first couple of posts will be monitored and reviewed before posting live but after that, you will have free will to post live (we need to be comfortable with what you are contributing before handing the reigns over to you).
